On October 30, 2024, IDFPR launched CORE, a new online system for professionals to apply for licensure in Illinois.

New applications for Private Detective Licenses are now available in CORE.

  • We have a new Third Party Authorization for licensure applicants, which may be found here! This is for applicants to authorize individuals or companies to contact IDFPR on your behalf regarding your application. All other versions of the form will no longer be accepted by the Department starting May 1, 2024.
  • Important Notice FCC Retired Peace Officer Waiver - LEOSA
  • Effective September 2025, LEOSA (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act) licenses issued in the State of Illinois are now valid for three (3) years from the date of last issuance. This change extends the previous expiration date of your current licensure period. You can print a copy of your license reflecting the new expiration date by logging into your eLicense Online account.
